About Josie

Found in the Wild was born from a realization that I have found 90% of the good things in my life from time in outdoor spaces - it's my happy place, where I met the love of my life, and where almost everything I want from future can be found.

I starting prioritizing the outdoors after moving from the UK to Whistler, British Columbia in 2014. This move showed me how incredible life can be when you love where you live and base your decisions around that alignment. After a feeling in my gut that I couldn't shake, I hiked the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada in 2023. The PCT allowed me to connect with a much calmer and more intentional way of living, and I realized that I needed to change the way I approached life and work. My focus shifted to creating a life centred around encouraging and helping others to experience the outdoors intentionally.

I currently live in Squamish, British Columbia, and have big plans for 2026: become an ACMG Apprentice Hiking Guide, move into a truck camper and live life from the road across BC and the Canadian Rockies, share our adventures, and encourage others to spend more time outside connecting to nature, themselves and each other.

Found in the Wild is based in Squamish, on the unceded traditional territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation).

Much of the trail information and stories shared here are born from lands now referred to as North America, that have been cared for by Indigenous Peoples for generations. I offer this acknowledgement with gratitude, respect, and an ongoing commitment to learning.
