About Josie
Found in the Wild exists to help people deepen their connection to the outdoors and to themselves, through hiking guides, skills building, intention, and meaningful time outside. I've found 90% of the good things in my life from time in the wild - it's my happy place, where I met the love of my life, and where everything I want from future can be found.
I discovered outdoor recreation after moving from the UK to Whistler, British Columbia in 2014. It wasn't until I started hiking in the Sea to Sky in 2017 that I truly fell in love with everything the outdoors had to offer. After a feeling in my gut that I couldn't shake, I hiked the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada in 2023. The PCT allowed me to connect with a much calmer and more intentional way of living, and I realized that I needed to change the way I approached life and work. Approaching burnout, I quit my job in the summer of 2025 and decided to create a life centred around encouraging and helping others to experience the outdoors intentionally.
I shares skills, stories, and resources that empower hikers, backpackers, and outdoor lovers to explore confidently, recreate responsibly, and engage with nature in ways that foster respect and self-discovery.
By blending practical guidance with intentional living, Found in the Wild encourages a slower, more mindful approach to adventure — one that values the journey as much as the destination, and reminds us that the time we spend outside has the power to shape the life we live within.
